Why We Became the Communications Partner for Vancouver Marketing Hub and Toronto Marketing Hub

We didn't walk into our first Vancouver Marketing Hub event as a communications partner. We walked in as guests—two people in a room full of strangers, trying to find someone who understood what we were talking about.

That's where it started.

We run a boutique marketing agency in Vancouver. We spend most of our days thinking about how brands communicate, how people decide to trust a business, and what makes someone stay. But the work can be isolating. You're inside your own thinking for long stretches. And at some point, you start to want a room.

VMH gave us that room.

Vancouver Marketing Hub and Toronto Marketing Hub are professional communities built around one idea: that the people doing the work should have a place to gather, talk honestly, and build something together.

These aren't networking events where everyone trades business cards and nothing happens. They're consistent gatherings. The same people keep coming back. Conversations carry over from one event to the next. Someone you met three months ago texts you about a project. A collaborator you connected with at one of these events becomes a real creative partner.

VMH operates in Vancouver. TMH operates in Toronto. Together, they represent two of Canada's most active cities for marketing, creative work, and brand strategy. And both of them are built on the same belief: that when people in this industry find each other, better work happens.

From the first event to becoming the partner

We kept showing up. Not as sponsors. Not as vendors. As people who genuinely wanted to be in the room.

At some point, one of our friends texted to say thank you. At a previous VMH event, we had introduced him to someone. That introduction had turned into a real collaboration. A project they were both proud of.

That text stayed with us.

It's easy to say community matters. It's a different thing to watch it actually work. To see two people start a project because they happened to be in the same room on a Wednesday night.

That's when we understood what VMH and TMH were actually doing. Not just running events. Building conditions where real things could happen between real people.

Eventually, ITANIZ became the official Communications and Growth partner for both Vancouver Marketing Hub and Toronto Marketing Hub. Not because we pitched it. Because we had been there long enough to understand what these communities needed and believed we could help deliver it.

What we're trying to do together

We want more people to hear about VMH and TMH. That's the simple version.

The longer version: there are marketers, strategists, creatives, and founders in Vancouver and Toronto right now who would find their people in these rooms. People who are doing good work quietly and haven't found the community that would make that work richer, faster, and more connected.

Our job as communications and growth partner is to make these communities more visible, more reachable, and more felt. To tell the story of what happens in these rooms in a way that makes the right people show up for the first time.

We also want the people already inside VMH and TMH to feel that belonging more. That the community is growing, that it has a direction, and that their participation matters.

This is not a brand exercise. It's work we care about because we've seen what happens when it works.

If you want to help these communities grow

One thing genuinely surprised us: how many people are already looking for somewhere to show up. There's no shortage of people who want to contribute, collaborate, and be part of something meaningful. What's in short supply is the environment that makes that feel possible. When a community is well-organized and genuinely welcoming, people don't need convincing. They were already looking for a reason.

That's what we're trying to build more of — in Vancouver and in Toronto.

If you're a marketer, creative, or strategist in either city and you haven't found your room yet, VMH and TMH are worth your time. Come to an event. The first time is just showing up.

And if you have ideas about how to help these communities grow — partnerships, programming, ways to reach more people — reach out to us directly. We'll have coffee and talk about it.
